Our man Stuart Clark got all cuddly with Ed at Croker.
He might have admitted to Hot Press's deputy editor that being known as the nicest guy around brings pressure – "I find with having that title, whenever I do
something that’s not nice it’s really blown out of proportion" – but Ed Sheeran lived up his reputation with ease at Croke Park.
Just before his two massive Irish shows, the 'Sing' star arrived at the venue to meet the press.
Conducting an extensive Q&A with Ed and Jamie Lawson (a former Dublin resident and Sheeran's first signing to his label) was our own Stuart Clark, and with Craig Fitzpatrick from this parish also pitching up when Stuart opened questions to the floor, Hot Press was at the centre of the action.
In our current issue (Ryan Sheridan cover), we bring the full interview to fans not privy to the conference until now, with an in-depth report from Clark.
On the agenda?
How while Ed would enjoy a Guinness or two in Ireland, his trip was more about catching up with his 91-year-old gran and extended family than going on a Wembley-style "rager", how a Damien Rice show changed his life, trying to impress Lisa Hannigan with the length of his set, his new label and so much more.
