DUG release new single 'Have At It!' and announce debut album

Dublin-base folk duo DUG have announced their debut album Have At It!, set to release September 19.

To accompany the news, they have released the album's title track of the same name.

The single is accompanied by a B-side cover of Ian Felice's 'In Memoriam'.

Additionally, the band's first ever official music video has been released.

"'Have At It' came from a text message my dad sent to our family WhatsApp group during COVID," said band member Conor Lorkin O'Reilly.

"At the time, there was that short phase when everyone thought COVID could spread through surfaces. My mum was really worried, so she decided to get a will written. She took a photo of it and shared it in the group chat. In response, my dad sent a picture of his will — a napkin with the words "Have at it!" scribbled across the front!"

O'Reilly started his solo career in 2018 with the release of his breakout album Heaven Depends. The folk artist has since amassed over 26 million Spotify streams. In 2023 he joined forces with Jonny Pickett to create DUG.

The duo's first single 'Jubilee’ was shortlisted for two Grammy nominations, Best American Roots Song and Best American Roots Performance, in 2024.

DUG will be headlining a show at The Academy, Dublin on October 29. More tour dates and ticket information can be found here.
