Drug toxicity revealed as the cause of Scott Weiland's death
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office revealed the cause of Scott Weiland's death through a press release they issued today December 18th.
The cause of former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver lead singers death was revealed today via a press release issued by the Hennepin County Medical Examiners Office.
The medical examiner issued a statement revealing the cause of Weiland's death as "mixed drug toxicity: cocaine, ethanol and methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA). Other significant conditions are noted as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, history of asthma and multi-substance dependence. Manner of death is accident."
On December 3rd Weiland 48, was found dead on the tourbus of his band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts, just before they were due to go onstage. Small amounts of illegal and prescription drugs were found on the tourbus after it was searched by police leading to the arrest of bassist Tommy Black for "possession of a controlled substance".
Weiland's funeral took place in Los Angles on December 11th. The small ceremony was attended by members Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver.
