Drake releases two suprise albums alongside Iceman
Habibti and Maid of Honour complete the trilogy
Drake dropped two surprise records alongside his long-anticipated ninth studio album Iceman today. During his 'Iceman: Episode Four' livestream on Thursday night, the rapper revealed two accompanying records, Habibti and Maid of Honour.
The three separate albums combine for a total of 43 tracks, adding up to a runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes. Across the records, features include Future and 21 Savage, to name a few. The Promotion for Iceman has been going on for months, including a giant ice installation in Drake’s hometown, Toronto, in April.
The album covers include a picture of Drake’s mother as a young woman (Maid of Honour), a hand wearing a white glove similar to Michael Jackson’s (Iceman), and a picture of a young woman with tape covering everything except her eyes (Habibti).
The trilogy marks Drake’s first records since his 2023 album For All the Dogs and his public feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024. He references this on his new project as well on ‘Make Them Cry’, the opener of Iceman: ‘What died back in 2024 was a big piece/ So it’s like this is me, but it isn’t me/ Y’all keep on asking what it did to me/ That’s what it did to me’
Last summer, he was the first artist to headline all three days of the Wireless Festival. The rapper has not announced any upcoming shows yet.
