Boris Johnson's senior aide and, some would say, Britain's de facto PM makes car crash media appearance
Dominic Cummings' attempt to defend the Lockdown-breaching indefensible doesn't seem to have won over the Irish jury. There have been lots of Father Dougal and Alan Partridge comparisons with some of Cummings' justifications for being where he shouldn't surreal in the extreme.
It's hard to know where Boris' bezzie goes from here - certainly not back to any Northeastern beauty spots.
Here are some of the most eye-catching tweets that have been appearing on our timeline:
"My vision had been a bit weird" - that's Dom's epitaph sorted if he achieves nothing else this afternoon.

BBC ask a reporter: "From a PR point of view, do you think the government got [Cummings matter] badly wrong?"
It's PR genius and media play along. They've us all talking about sacking Cummings instead of overthrowing Tories for 37,000 deaths and millions in financial difficulty.

Funnily enough, driving a car at high speed to test if your eyes are working is an almost perfect analogy for Brexit.

Spare a thought for all the opticians who spent years training, only to find out you just get behind the wheel and go to a scenic town to test your eyesight when it’s bad. #Dominiccummimgs pic.twitter.com/bwNxWCYW7m

Can't deal with the amount of fidgeting #DominicCummings is doing. Dude, your water jug will not save you. And NEITHER will those scribbles.

It's hard to comment on what I'm watching on @BBCNews without coming across as mocking the British people. Going to be very hard to get people to buy in to social distancing now. Being told it's no big deal really. All bad for Ireland as well too of course.

The tactic being used by #boris here is one that is being used by armies of politicians across the world. Make a total balls of something, keep the head down for a week and it will blow over . And you know what, it does blow over. And that’s the problem. #cummings

The hindsight test isn't going quite as successfully as the eyesight test. #CummingsStatement

Can anyone remind me how this gobshite is somehow considered clever in England? #dominiccummimgs
