In what we have to say was a very well guarded secret, Dolores O’Riordan was revealed last night on the Late Late Show as the woman who’ll be taking over from Sharon Corr as the fourth Voice of Ireland judge.
The Cranberries singer will take her seat for October 18 – 20’s blind auditions, tickets for which can be applied for at [email protected]
"It’s great to be back in Ireland and to be taking part in one of Ireland’s most popular TV shows at same time," she said after jetting in from Canada where she has a family home. "I know a good voice when I hear one and I’m out to find the best star in the country."
Having sold 40 million-plus records, she certainly knows her way around the music industry! Her addition to the team was welcomed by fellow judge Jamelia who tweeted: “Whoop whoop. Very excited about having Dolores joining us on the big red chairs. Gonna be a good ‘un I think.”
An old pal of Hot Press' O'Riordan released two solo albums before reconvening The Cranberries in 2009 for the Roses album and a lengthy accompanying tour.
