Dexys announce 3Olympia gig
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 27, at 10 AM.
Iconic Birmingham band Dexys have announced they will play Dublin's 3Olympia on November 4.
Founded in 1978 by Kevin Rowland and Kevin Archer, Dexys are best known for their songs 'Geno' and ‘Come On Eileen’, which both reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart and ‘Jackie Wilson Said (I’m in Heaven When You Smile)', which reached No. 5.
They also broke America with ‘Come On Eileen’, which reached the top spot of the US Billboard Hot 100 and saw Dexy’s associated with "the second British invasion" alongside the likes of Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Gary Numan, and The Police.
Dexys released their first studio album in 1980, with Searching for the Young Soul Rebels. They followed this up with Too-Rye-Ay (1982), Don’t Stand Me Down (1985), One Day I’m Going To Soar (2012), Let the Record Show: Dexys Do Irish and Country Soul (2016), and Feminine Divine (2023).
Dexys have garnered over a billion worldwide streams, three top 10 albums in the UK, two number 1 singles, a Brit Award and a multi-platinum-selling album with their sophomore release, Too-Rye-Ay (as Dexys Midnight Runners).
