Following 'Ghosts Again,' 'My Cosmos Is Mine' is the second single Depeche Mode has dropped ahead of their Memento Mori album and tour
It's the second track they've released from the upcoming album, after they shared 'Ghosts Again' back in February, accompanied with a music video.
The album is due to release sometime this month, followed by a tour starting on March 23rd and spanning Europe and North America.
Going strong since 1981, when they first released their debut LP Speak & Spell, Depeche Mode has been at the forefront of the electronic music genre for well over forty years. Their 15th studio album, Memento Mori will be their first album in six years.
Although they started it at the beginning of the pandemic, the death of original member and bassist Andy Fletcher last year cast doubt on Memento Mori's release. The two remaining band members, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore, announced their decision to go forward with the album in a press conference in Berlin.
"After Fletch's passing, we decided to continue as we're sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning," Gore said.
Fletcher primarily played the keyboard and handled business decisions, with limited involvement in the songwriting process or vocals.
The 2023 tour will start with a limited run in North America before beginning the European stretch on May 16th. It includes a single show in Dublin at Malahide Castle on June 14th. The band then plans to return to North America for the 3rd leg of the tour in September.
