Tom Silvester has been putting out house music for over half a decade, but Deep & Wide is his first album to date. Sectioned into two parts, ‘Deep’ includes a number of ambient passages, like album closer ‘All Good Things’, but in the main ‘Deep’ is a development of Silvester’s dance floor skills.
Luckily, this means avoiding the current fascination with all things disco and drawing on dubby basslines, jazzy sources, percussive breaks and even some 2 step based shuffles. Coming on like Maurizio stuck in a studio with only the break step crew and the Best Of Miles Davis to keep him company, Deep & Wide is out there house music of the highest order, an album for groovers and smokers alike.
