The artist will play Iveagh Gardens with special guests Lynched this summer on Friday July 21.
After selling out all three of his Christmas shows at Vicar Street this year, Damien Dempsey has announced a return to Dublin along with special guests Lynched. After the release of his 2000 album They Don't Teach This Shit In School, Dempsey's career has been on an upward climb. With endorsement from artists such as Brian Eno, Sinéad O’Connor, and Bob Dylan, Dempsey has recorded platinum albums such as Seize the Day in 2003 and Shots in 2005.
Dempsey has also expanded his artistic ambitions outside of music as well. His project with Irish graffiti artist Maser, titled They Are Us, took the lyrics of Dempsey's music to the buildings of Dublin, where they were depicted in graffiti. Prints of the art were sold in a fundraiser for The Simon Community, which aids homeless and disenfranchised people in Dublin.
