DaBaby calls police on his baby's mother, promotes upcoming tour in statement before she is charged
His partner Dani Leigh has since been charged with two counts of assault.
The mother of DaBaby's newborn child has been charged with two counts of assault after an argument between the pair was streamed on Instagram Live on Sunday night.
Singer in her own right, DaniLeigh (real name Danielle Curiel), was charged yesterday after police officers were called to their house for the second time in two days.
"Man, y’all come get her," DaBaby said on Instagram Live during the initial dispute on Sunday.
He later posted on his account that night that he would "like to swiftly remove myself from any of the ‘hostile’ behavior put on display moments ago, this here thing has gone far enough for shawty to crash out on her own and it saddens me because I still got a queen to raise."
In a bizarre turn, DaBaby then promoted his upcoming tour at the end of the statement.
"My focus right now is solely on this new project and this LiveShowKillaTour starting Nov. 26th. Hate shawty went out that way but that ain’t my business I’m a father first always, and always will be."
DaniLeigh responded to his account of the events on her on social media, saying, "Lame ass using this situation to promote his EP/Tour.. Literally putting the date on his 'statement'."
It's another controversial moment in the career of DaBaby this year after he made homophobic comments during his set at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami back in July.
He recently announced his first major tour since the incident, backed by Rolling Loud.
Defending their decision to work with DaBaby again, the group behind the festival said, "Rolling Loud supports second chances and we believe DaBaby has grown and learned from his experience. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to DaBaby’s fans seeing him live."
