Croíthe look ahead to Electric Picnic: "It’s a great opportunity for young music fans in Ireland to see the big alternative bands right now"

"Electric Picnic is a big community, and it’s a place that Irish acts have really built up. This year has Fontaines D.C., but there are also established acts from the UK like Wunderhorse and even from the US like Geese. It’s a great opportunity for young music fans in Ireland to see the big alternative bands right now.

"Our performance is on Friday, but we get to stay for the weekend. We’ve never actually got to experience a festival we’re playing in – we played Beyond The Pale this year, but we only got to stay one night. It will be nice to experience Ireland’s biggest festival in full as a performer and as a festival-goer.

"Some of our friends are playing that we’re really excited to see, Bleech 9:3 and Madra Salach. It’s great to see them doing so well.

"We’ll be doing a mix of our first EP and a couple of singles from our next project, which will be out early next year, so there’s lots to expect from our performance.

"In terms of the wider festival, No Music On A Dead Planet is a project we really back. Sustainability is really important to us; a lot of festivals are held on preserved grounds, farms, or wildlife areas. We have to look after these areas so we can keep having these festivals.

"The orange bins are definitely a way to help. Just throwing in a can, even if it’s only one per person – there will be thousands at Electric Picnic, and that will add up. It will make Stradbally a nicer environment to be in, for the acts, the festival-goers, everyone. We all have to do our part."
