Creed takes the lead at Warners
With major personnel changes afoot at Warner Music Ireland, Pat Creed has been confirmed as the newly appointed General Manager
Pat Creed has been appointed General Manager at Warner Music Ireland. The appointment, which had been widely anticipated in industry circles, is part of a wider set of changes which are being implemented at the company.
Sources have also confirmed that Denis Woods, who has been Managing Director of Warners here since the ‘90s, will be retiring from the company in the early summer, leaving Creed in overall charge of operations. Others who will leave Warners as part of the re-focussing of the company include Head of Press and Promotions, Catherine Greenhalgh.
The changes are part of an overall move to cut costs and inject fresh impetus into Warners, following the take-over of the music giant by Edward Bronfman, the former head of Seagram’s – the company that owned Universal Music.
The changes come on the run-in to what will be an especially busy summer for Warners, who have a string of high profile releases on the way – including new albums from Irish heavyweights Ash and, most notably, The Corrs, as well as The Streets and Alanis Morrisette. Also on the way is the much anticipated debut album from Bellefire.
