The frontman reveals how Queen Bey rejected a chance to appear on one of the band's tracks
After their much talked about Super Bowl performance together along with Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson, Chris Martin has come out in an interview to talk about the time that Beyoncé turned down the opportunity to collaborate with Coldplay.
The frontman approached Beyoncé and her producer Stargate with a track called ‘Hook Up’, only for them to turn him down "in the sweetest possible way".
Chris Martin has been a friend with Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z for a long time and maybe this is why Beyoncé was so honest with him about the situation. He told Rolling Stone, "She told me, 'I really like you - but this is awful.'"

Its not the first time however that Chris Martin had a song rejected by an artist. Shortly after David Bowie’s death, when many people were talking about work and collaborations they had done, Martin spoke of the time that Bowie rejected the opportunity to work with them: "He called me and said, 'It's not one of your best'."
Martin and co obviously came up with something better on their most recent album A Head Full of Dreams as Beyoncé does collaborate with the band on the track 'Hymn for the Weekend'.
