Charlotte Hatherley returns to live duty with an Irish tour.
It takes her to Dolan’s, Limerick (February 20); Venue TBC, Cork (21); Whelan’s, Dublin (23); Nerve Centre, Derry (24); and Limelight, Belfast (25).
The former Ash guitarist will be introducing us to The Deep Blue, which is due in March through the label she’s set up with Ann-Marie Shields, Little Sister.
“The thing I’m really proud of is it’s an album, from start to finish,” Charlotte enthuses. “It really conveys a mood. It’s got a particular vibe to it. The production is a lot more thoughtful. It sounds like I spent a year on it, which you’d hope it would! There’s loads going on. It’s a lot more honest, a bit more vulnerable.”
Its lead single, ‘Behave’, is streaming now at www.myspace.com/charlottehatherleyofficial.
A visceral as well as an aural treat, it’s accompanied by a fab comic-book video which suggests that her former bandmates’ Star Wars obsession finally got to her.
