Charli XCX returns with 'Rock Music' video
The 'Rock Music' video is directed by Aidan Zamiri, and shot entirely in black and white.
Charli XCX has released her new single 'Rock Music' along with an accompanying video.
The track comes as her first release since Wuthering Heights, an LP released in February as the soundtrack to "Wuthering Heights", the Emerald Fennell film, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.
'Rock Music' credits Charli XCX's familiar collaborators, producer A.G. Cook and songwriter Finn Keane.
The new video is directed by Scottish film-maker Aidan Zamiri, and shot entirely in black and white. Zamiri additionally collaborated with Charli XCX on her recent The Moment mockumentary.
"Started the idea for this music video with Aidan when we were in Paris," she wrote to social media today.
"Aidan was filming me in the studio with Finn and Alex. It was fun to be immediately reactive and come up with the idea for the video as the song was still being made.
"The song ideas informed the video, and the video ideas informed the song. Full circle kinda thing."
As rumours surrounding the her upcoming LP have circled, she's now used the new single to clarify "I never said we were making a rock album."
Other projects from Charli XCX include a role in Gregg Araki's forthcoming film I Want Your Sex, starring Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, as well as a part in the recently released Polish film Erupcja.
