On the rise since the 2020 release of her Good At Being Young EP, Nashville indie star Charli Adams is preparing to share her debut album, Bullseye. Following up lead single 'Didn't Make It' and revealing rebellion anthem 'Cheer Captain' is 'Headspace', Adams' latest single. Featuring singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, the track heralds her arrival with dreamy, ethereal pop-country vocals.
Steeped in washed guitars and 80s sounds, the emotional immediacy of Adams' songwriting takes centre stage here.
“‘Headspace' is about being so in love with someone that it physically hurts, really bad”, the songwriter explained in a statement. . “When you're almost mad at yourself for still loving this person. It's kind of a contradiction in the chorus...you're standing at their front door wondering how to not think about them.
"I wrote ‘Headspace’ in my bedroom about a month before I got a call to open for Ruston on his tour in 2019. I played it on the road and I remembered him saying it was his favorite, so I was excited to ask him to sing on it once I got to record it. I have so much respect for him so I'm really honored to collaborate with him on ‘Bullseye’."
