Carnaval: a new Latin festival for Dublin
Three floors of free music and culture in Sweeney's, in association with Havana Club.
Sunday March 2 sees the first Carnaval event take place in the capital.
Bringing culture from Cuba, Brazil, New Orleans and beyond to Sweeney's Bar on Dame Street, there will be three floors of activity throughout the day and night.
Expect a fusion of jazz, afro-funk, soul, latin and world music on stage. The Booka Brass Band, the only such New Orleans-style act in the country, and authentic Cuban band The Cuban All Stars will play, as well The Baque Soul Band, Brazilian pop exponent Carlinhos Cruz and Sweeney's regulars The Jazz Men.
