Brian Kennedy sings the classics for TV
A new show's in the pipeline which will see Eurovision entrant Brian Kennedy singing a selection of Irish number ones, as chosen by the public.
In an Irish twist to those fandangled public interaction shows, 1 To Remember will have a website where the public will whittle down ten songs from a chosen year to just five, which he'll sing on the show.
Fans have until May 31 to select the songs they'd like Brian to sing, each of which topped the Irish charts at some stage over the past 44 years.
The songs are by Irish and international artists, ranging from 1965's 'Ticket to Ride' by The Beatles, and 2001's 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' by Eve and Gwen Stefani and Kylie's classic 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.
Once Brian's performed the five numbers on the show, viewers can then vote for their favourite, with the winning songs from each show making it through to the grand finale.
There will also be a Christmas special, where viewers can pick from songs that topped the festive charts, like East 17's 'Stay Another Day' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
1 To Remember will air from 23 July, every Sunday at 8.30pm on RTE1.
