Bono launches AIDS initiative
Bono was on hand today as a new initiative to fight HIV and AIDS was announced at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
Gap, Converse, and Giorgio Armani are just a few of the companies who’ll be marketing a special range of products under the ‘Red’ brand name.
“This is really sexy to me,” Bono said brandishing an American Express ‘Red Card’. “We launch this today with four companies, we want 40, then 400. We are looking for the best and brightest to work with us. This is not a rock star cause, it’s an emergency.”
Joining the singer at the press conference was Product Red Chief Executive Bobby Shriver who explained: “We sought out companies who make iconic products. An ordinary person can simply walk into a shop and feel that they can participate in helping the needy by simply buying a perfume.”
