Bon Jovi biopic in production from Universal Pictures
The film will involve Jon Bon Jovi and will have access to the band’s music library
A Bon Jovi biopic is in production from Universal Pictures, with the involvement of frontman Jon Bon Jovi and access to the band’s music library, according to Deadline.
The announcement of the film comes after the New Jersey rock band announced their return to touring after a four year hiatus last year, and after the release of their 2024 album, Forever.
The film is set to be produced by Gotham Chopra, who produced and directed the 2024 documentary series Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, and Kevin J. Walsh (The Instigators, Manchester By The Sea).
The film is set to cover the early years of Bon Jovi, and their rise to prominence.
In the past, Universal Pictures has produced a number of other films based on musicians, including 8 Mile, based around rapper Eminem, and Straight Outta Compton, based on rap group N.W.A.
Bon Jovi is on tour this summer, and will play Croke Park in Dublin on August 30.
