Bon Iver announce 10th anniversary edition of second album Bon Iver
Phoebe Bridgers is slated to feature on the reissue of Bon Iver, 'Bon Iver'.
Bon Iver have announced a 10th anniversary edition of their Grammy-winning second studio album, Bon Iver.
Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon and Sean Carey’s October 2011 AIR Studios Session will be appended to the record. During the session the pair played, ‘Hinnom, TX,’ and ‘Beth/Rest’ from Bon Iver. They also played ‘Babys’ from the Blood Bank EP along with a cover of ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ by Bonnie Raitt.
The 10th anniversary edition of the band’s sophomore album will be released on CD and LP on January 14th 2022 via 4AD and Jagjaguwar. The reissue also features an essay from Phoebe Bridgers, who describes the album as “massive, sprawling, unbelievably complex.”
The outfit will also celebrate the album's anniversary with two shows at the YouTube theatre in Inglewood California in October. The band recently released the AIR Studios session cut of ‘Babys.’
Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon has recently been busy with his side-project Big Red Machine with The National’s Aaron Dessner. The artists have released a slew of singles recently including ‘Renegade’ with Taylor Swift, ‘Mimi’ featuring Ilsey and ‘The Ghost of Cincinatti.
An interview with Aaron Dessner is slated to appear in the September issue of Hot Press.
