The band’s seventh album is due out on September 11 via the newly-formed record label cOnTAGIOUS LTD (via Virgin Music Group).
Bloc Party have announced the release of their upcoming album Anatomy Of A Brief Romance for September 11 via the newly-formed record label cOnTAGIOUS LTD (via Virgin Music Group).
The band’s seventh record is produced by legendary producer Trevor Horn, best known for his work with 80s legends like Grace Jones, Pet Shop Boys and Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
Check out the record’s first single ‘Coming On Strong’ below:
Kele Okereke, Bloc Party’s frontman, described the record as his most confessional and personal to date, discussing relationships, break-ups and intimacy.
“Every lyric you’re hearing on this record was something that actually happened to me,” he explained, “I had to tell the story, from start to finish.”
He also called the new piece of work: “less prudish about sex and connection and intimacy”, adding: “I have no qualms talking about it, because that connection is important.”
In 2026, Bloc Party are set to share a co-headline show with Interpol in Dublin’s 3Arena on November 30.
Anatomy Of A Brief Romance is available for pre-order here.
