Blackberry Smoke for The Academy
The cult Americans are over in June for a Dublin date
Blackberry Smoke have confirmed a June 21 visit to the Dublin Academy in support of their Holding All The Roses album, which was produced by Brendan O'Brien of AC/DC, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen renown.
Formed in 2000, the Atlanta outfit consider themselves to be slacking if they don't play 250 gigs a year.
"We've built our audience one fan at a time," notes drummer Brit Turner. "Sometimes it feels like we know every one of them personally, and we're constantly amazed and moved by their loyalty and passion."
"In the past, we never really had the resources to make the kind of records we wanted to make," adds singer and guitarist Charlie Starr, "but this time around, everything lined up, and we were able to create an album that covers a lot of musical ground and works as a listening experience from beginning to end."
The band get extra marks for the luxuriance of their locks, and proggy penchant for performing on Persian rugs.
