BIMM Dublin take over Odessa Club this Thursday
BIMM students Orchid Collective, Sails and Brendan McGlynn play the Dame Court venue tomorrow evening...
Students from the Brighton Institute of Modern Music will take over Dublin's Odessa Club tomorrow night, Thursday, April 11.
The line-up consists entirely of BIMM first year students in the form of seven-piece Sails, six-piece Orchid Collective, and solo man Brendan McGlynn, who are all performing together for the first time.
“We're only playing with each other just over a month; we all met through studying in BIMM. It's sort of a folk/indie sound with six members, five of whom sing in the band. It's very harmony based!” said Darragh Cahill of Sails.
Tickets (€5) are available from the venue tomorrow night, limited availability. Doors: 8.30pm.
Some of the musicians who'll be performing on the night were also present earlier this year when Hot Press was invited to the college's new premises on The Coombe in Dublin 8. You can read all about BIMM's expansion, including interviews with lecturer Cathy Davey and college manager Dara Kilkenny here.
