The third time is a charm for repentant rocker.
AA Bondy is a former member of forgotten ‘90s rockers Verbena and Believers is his third album. It’s a slab of wax – well, if you can get it on vinyl! – that heaves with measured menace and reverb-laden tales of romance. And you know what? ondy has delivered an utterly bewitching record that’s tailor-made for the night-time. Brooding yet beautiful tracks like ‘The Heart Is Willing’ and the aching ‘Skull & Bones’ (which has a goosebump inducing multi-layered hook that is as haunting as anything on American Horror Story) are worth the price of admission alone. But pretty much everything here is pitch perfect. AA is an alt. folk icon in the making...
