Bad Bunny to headline 2026 Super Bowl halftime show
"What I'm feeling goes beyond myself," Bad Bunny said. "It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown."
Bad Bunny has been tapped as the headliner for the 2026 Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
The Puerto Rican singer will perform at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on February 8, according to a Sunday announcement from the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation.
This marks the first time that the Puerto Rican musician has performed on the Super Bowl stage.
"What I'm feeling goes beyond myself," said Bad Bunny in a statement.
"It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL (English: Go tell your grandma we're going to be the SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW)."
After the announcement, Bad Bunny posted a video on social media picturing him sitting on American football goal posts as his song 'DtMF' plays in the background.

Jon Barker, SVP of Global Event Production for the NFL, wrote in the announcement, "Bad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today's music scene."
"As one of the most influential and streamed artists in the world, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages, and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to take the Super Bowl halftime stage," Barker said.
"We know his dynamic performances, creative vision, and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we've come to expect from this iconic cultural moment."
Bad Bunny has also received praise from fellow musicians, including rapper Jay-Z.
"What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring," said Jay-Z, adding, "We are honored to have him on the world's biggest stage."
Singer Bruno Mars celebrated the announcement in a post on X, writing, "Go get em Bad Bunny!"
Bad Bunny will follow Kendrick Lamar's show at the 2025 game, which set the record for the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show with 133.5 million viewers.
The news comes after Bad Bunny cancelled his US tour, citing concerns that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could target fans with raids at his concerts.
"There was the issue of, like, fucking ICE could be outside [my concert]," said Bad Bunny to i-D earlier this month.
"And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about."
Since Donald Trump was re-elected, ICE raids have surged across the US. The agency aims for a minimum of 3,000 arrests a day. Concerns have been raised about the arrests of legal residents of the country with no criminal record, as well as the separation of families and the mistreatment of detainees in immigration detention centres.
Bad Bunny has been vocally critical of ICE on Instagram, posting an Instagram story in June in which he referred to the agents as "sons of bitches" who "can’t seem to leave people alone".
Just before the announcement of his Super Bowl performance, Bad Bunny posted on X, "Estuve pensando en estos días, y luego de hablarlo con mi equipo, creo que haré una sola fecha en Estados Unidos (English: I've been thinking about it these days, and after talking with my team, I think I'll do just one date in the United States)."

The news follows his Puerto Rico residency which drew over 500,000 fans this month.
He recently became one of the world's most-streamed artists with his 2025 album Debí Tirar Más Fotos and he currently leads the nominees for the Latin Grammy Awards in November.
In late November, he will launch his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour, starting with a series of shows in South and Central America before heading to Australia and eventually Europe. At the time of writing, there are no Irish dates on the tour.
