Arctic Monkeys' Matt Helders and Milburn's Joe Carnall release the first single from their new side project
Good Cop Bad Cop, made up of Arctic Monkey's drummer and Milburn's frontman, have released their debut single, 'Silk and Leather.'
Matt Helders and Joe Carnall, founding members of English rock bands Arctic Monkeys and Milburn, have joined forces to form a new group, Good Cop Bad Cop. The duo have now shared 'Silk and Leather', the first official track to emerge from the side project.
Produced by Helders and written by Carnall, the synthesiser-based track is a notable move away from the guitar-heavy sounds both musicians have been traditionally associated with. Good Cop Bad Cop have announced that 'Silk and Leather' will be the first single from their upcoming self-titled debut album, set to be released on March 29.
The group also took to Twitter today to share details about their upcoming tour dates, which go on sale on Wednesday morning. Although there are currently no Irish dates scheduled, Good Cop Bad Cop will be making appearances in London, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol Nottingham, and Sheffield.
This is not Helders' first musical venture outside Arctic Monkeys. In 2016, the drummer and producer appeared on Iggy Pop's Post Pop Depression, as well as Lady Gaga's critically acclaimed album Joanne.
Good Cop Bad Cop is available to pre-order now.
