Fans of the much-loved and missed singer-songwriter are being asked to rummage through their draws for a new album.
Hermione Hennessy is asking fans to contribute to a second posthumous release by her dad Christie who died on December 11 last year.
“We’d very much like to hear about and see photographs of Christie taken live or after a gig,” she says. “Were you by any chance a passenger on the coach of ladies who kidnapped him on a mountainside in Kerry? Do you have any funny stories relevant either to him or an event in your own life? What is your favourite song of his and why?”
Hermione, who regularly sung and appeared on stage with her father, is also looking for “memorabilia such as set-lists from gigs – there’s lots of them out there! – plus any autographs he gave. If there’s any live footage of him out there, we’d love to see it too.”
Relevant material can be uploaded to christiehennesy.com.
Following on from this year’s The Two Of Us duets album, the new release will feature original songs that Christie recorded during the last few weeks of his life.
