Neal Boyd, who famously won the third season of the hugely popular show, has sadly died at the young age of only 42-years-old.
The opera singer died on Sunday night from a mixture of heart failure, kidney failure, and liver disease, it has just been announced.
Back in 2008, Neal bowled over judges with David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne and host Jerry Springer with his amazing voice.
His was a rags to riches tail by scooping the $1million winning prize fund.
"I didn’t realize we were poor until my mama told me I was, but we got through,” he said on the show.
“It was my mom who really kept the family together… If it wasn’t for my mom, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to sing for the first time in first grade."
He went on to release an album. 'My American Dream' in 2009, which was well received by the critics.
During his short career, Boyd also played live for several past and present US presidents.
He also ran for elections unsuccessfully himself on two occasions back in 2012 and 2014.
