Broadcaster ends three year absence to front evening bulletin
TV3 have announced that Alan Cantwell will return to its news coverage as the host of TV3 News At 8.
One of the very first employees at the station when it began in 1998, the popular broadcaster has been away from their news coverage for three years, but will make a welcome comeback from next Wednesday, October 28. As well as fronting the recently-launched evening news show, he will also be heavily involved in their coverage of the upcoming election.
“It’s great to be back with TV3 News," said the Dublin-born newsman, "particularly to be part of the main evening news at 8pm. I’m looking forward to covering the general election and witnessing the next phase of TV3’s evolution under the ownership of Virgin Media.”
Unsurprisingly, the Ballymount outfit are altogether overjoyed to see his return. “I am delighted that Alan has decided to come back to TV3," said Group Director of News and Public Affairs, Andrew Hanlon. "He is a highly experienced newsman who brings a wealth of current affairs knowledge and on-screen presence to our increasingly popular nightly news broadcast.”
