Al Porter stands down from Olympia theatre panto
Polly & The Beanstalk is still going ahead with an alternate star.
Pat Egan Management has confirmed that Al Porter is “standing down” from this year’s Olympia Theatre, Dublin panto, which he co-wrote with fellow comedian Karl Spain.
Polly & The Beanstalk will still go-ahead, though, from December 15-January 14 with a yet to be replaced star lining-up alongside Dustin The Turkey and Fair City’s Ryan Andrews.
Booking has been brisk, with the original run extended last month by a week.
"Due to recent developments, Al Porter is standing aside from his role in this year’s Pantomime Polly and the Beanstalk at the Olympia Theatre,” we’re told. "A replacement star will be announced shortly."
Over at Today FM, Muireann O’Connell is covering the lunchtime slot vacated by Porter until a permanent replacement is found.
