Across The Line TV spin-off to premiere next week
April 26 sees radio duo Donna Legge and David O’Reilly enter the realm of the audio-visual in Across The Line TV, with Snow Patrol playing a starring role in the warm-up special
We’ve always said that Donna Legge and David “Rigsy” O’Reilly have great faces for radio, well, now they have great faces for television as well.
Starting Tursday, May 4 on BBC Two NI at 10pm, the Across The Line duo will be bringing you a weekly mix of superstar interviews, live music sessions and videos, while giving new local talent the chance to shine.
“It’s incredible that ATL-TV is happening, especially just at the moment,” enthuses the boy O’Reilly. “There’s so much happening in Northern Ireland, so many great bands around. It’s a big deal for myself and Donna presenting on telly for the first time, but at least I know I’ll be really enthusiastic as the musical content is so strong.”
A mainstay of the Northern music scene for 17-years, Across The Line was an early champion of Therapy?, Ash, David Holmes, Jetplane Landing and Snow Patrol who star in a special warm-up ATL-TV special on Monday, April 26. Yup, tune in to BBC One NI at 11.35pm and you’ll be able to see the boy’s triumphant Belfast homecoming show at Mandela Hall.
“We sometimes describe Across The Line as punk or jazz radio, because we often think we break the rules a bit and we occasionally sail quite close to the edge in terms of what we can get away with,” Donna Legge reflects. “Hopefully our passion, cheekiness and devastating good looks will make up for our lack of experience in TV land!”
Also popping up regularly on ATL-TV will be roving reporters Helen Toland and Paul Hamill, and BBC Radio One evening man Colin Murray who’ll be presenting a segment called, chortle, London Colin.
