The equally lovely Decapitated won't be too far behind.
Polish rockers Acid Drinkers give their charmingly titled The Dick Is Rising Again album a live airing on December 5 in the Dublin Academy.
Stadium-sized in their own country, the quartet have covered the likes of Donna Summer (‘Hot Stuff’), the B52’s (‘Love Shack’), Thin Lizzy (‘Bad Reputation’) and, er, Frank Sinatra (‘New York, New York) for the collection.
There’s more Polish metal, this time of the thrash variety, in The Village, Dublin (December 11) and Spring & Airbrake, Belfast (12). Decapitated will be giving a belated plug to 2006’s Hallucinosis album, which sold by the truckload in Eastern Europe.
Also headlining on January 7 in the Spring & Airbrake are Sweet Savage who join the equally muscular Sinocence, Nine Lies and Devilmakesthree for Blazefest. Tickets are a tenner.
One of the acts to emerge during the New Wave of British (and Northern Irish!) Heavy Metal in the ‘80s, Sweet Savage have hit the comeback trail after having their praises sung by Metallica who’ve swelled the coffers by covering a couple of their tunes.
