"Sad, even depressed and somewhat embarrassed"
Revs frontman and IRMA award nominee Rory Gallagher issued an open letter to the Irish music industry on Monday. Read on
"When The Revs were nominated for the Meteor/IRMA Awards in the Best Newcomer/Hope For 2002 categories, I felt honoured and delighted," Revs singer Rory Gallagher says, in an open letter to the music industry issued by the frontman on Monday.
"However, when I saw whom the other candidates were – with the exception of Damien Rice who is a great talent – I started to get sad, even depressed and somewhat embarrassed. Not so much for myself, but for the state of the Irish music industry that these nominations represented."
