1 Love, is a compilation album of major artists covering number one hits from the past 50 years, with the proceeds going to the War Child charity. It’s the second such venture, the first, enitiled Help!, having been released in 1995, clocking up £1.5 million stg. for children in war zones the world over.
This record features a wealth of artists each giving their own spin on a classic record – there’s the Sugababes doing Adamski’s ‘Killer’, Feeder with Frankie’s ‘Power of Love’, Badly Drawn Boy’s version of Dexy’s Midnight Runner’s ‘Come On Eileen’, Jimmy Eat World doing the Prodigy’s ‘Firestarter’ and Ms Dynamite covering Soul II Soul’s ‘Back To Life’.
Aside from gracing your CD collection with some of the finest – and most obscure – cover versions ever committed to record, the purchase of this CD goes a little way to making a big difference.
