Nicola Coughlan, Brenda Fricker, Barry McGuigan, LYRA to appear on The Late Late Show
Fricker will pay tribute to the women and children of Ireland's Mother and Baby homes following the publication of the Commission of Investigation's report this week.
The Late Late Show returns this week with a star-studded line-up and tribute to Dolores O'Riordan - with music from rising artist Lyra to mark three years since the death of the Cranberries lead singer.
Oscar-winning actress Brenda Fricker and Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan will be among the guests on Friday night's show on RTÉ One.
The retired Irish actress is an Academy Award-winner for her role in the biopic My Left Food, and is also well known from her role as the infamous “pigeon lady” in Home Alone.
Galway actress Coughlan will discuss her role in Lisa McGee's award-winning Derry-based comedy, as well as her new Netflix period drama series Bridgerton.
Host Ryan Tubridy will also be talking to former boxer Barry McGuigan about how his family is coping since the death of his daughter Danika, who passed away at the age of 33 in 2019 following a short illness.
All five Operation Transformation leaders - Hazel Hartigan, Susuana Komolafe, Paul Devaney, Andrew Burke-Hannon and Sharon Gaffney - will also feature on the show to discuss progress to date.
In addition to the phenomenal success she’s achieved as a collaborator with Irish Women In Harmony, Cork artist LYRA has continued to establish herself as one Ireland’s most compelling pop acts around.
Her single ‘New Day’ served as an empowering anthem for hope and change in the midst of fear, confusion and injustice, while her latest release, her The Magic Of Christmas EP has arrived as a stunning festive gift for her fans – and further positioned her on the cusp of international superstardom.
LYRA intends to pay tribute to the inimitable Dolores O'Riordan by performing a compelling tribute on the veteran RTÉ show.
The Late Late Show airs this Friday on RTÉ One at 9:35pm.
