Ireland left off world beer map!
We're officially taking umbrage on behalf of all our fabulous breweries
Team Hot Press is shocked, disappointed and in need of a cold libation after the folk from www.visualcapitalist.com omitted Ireland from their 'What's The Beer Price In Your Country' map.
"Imagine: a World Beer Index that covers 58 countries and omits Ireland, home of Guinness – now with one of the best craft industries in the world. Madness!" says Hot Press reader Paul who alerted us to this terrible oversight.
No offence now to the likes of Panama, Nepal and Belarus, but their beers have not travelled the world like our fine brews have. While miffed about Ireland not being included, the map does make for interesting reading with the average 330ml bottle of beer costing an eye-watering $11.68 in Qatar, which is the costliest country to imbibe in. On the other hand, beer costing a mere $1.68 in South Africa makes us inclined to scoot off to South Africa as soon as C*vid is kicked into touch!
