Home to over 400 animals – many belonging to rare and endangered species – Dublin Zoo is a perennially popular attraction for families. Even Beyonce and Jay Z are fans, having brought their daughter a few years ago. Opened in 1831, it also features daily talks and regular educational events: your kids will learn while having fun. Spread across 28 hectares, there’s a lot of ground to cover – planning ahead might be advisable in case of little legs beginning to tire! It’s also a good idea to check the feeding schedules on the website, as it is worth watching the lions tuck in or the penguins getting their fishy fill. The zoo is open from 9.30am every day; last admissions vary by season.
