Airfield House & Farm

Give your child a chance to explore the great outdoors whilst learning about planting, growing and cooking! That’s the recipe at what is Dublin’s only 38-acre working farm and garden, which also has plenty to keep parents occupied. Airfield is home to a range of animals, from sheep, pigs and donkeys to Rhode Island red hens and more exotic legbar fowl – which lay beautiful blue-coloured eggs. The charming woodlands, with trees such as cherry and honeysuckle, are a lovely, natural space for kids and adults alike to stroll in. There are two play areas, The Grey Barn and Naturescape, where the farm animals can be watched close-up. Another great option for children is the Young Farmer Series – a range of two-hour workshops, each focusing on a different animal and aspects of farming.
