WATCH: New trailer for Ian Fitzgibbon and Kevin Barry's Dark Lies The Island
Catch Pat Shortt, Moe Dunford, Charlie Murphy, Tommy Tiernan, Peter Coonan and more in the dark comedy.
A brand new trailer for Dark Lies The Island, the upcoming Irish comedy from Ian Fitzgibbon, has been released. The star-studded new film follows two brothers (Moe Dunford and Peter Coonan), who are attempting to crawl out under from shadow of their domineering father (Pat Shortt) in a small rural town. Charlie Murphy and Tommy Tiernan also appear.
Set to be released in Irish cinemas by Break Out Pictures this autumn, Dark Lies The Island is the fifth film from director Ian Fitzgibbon, who has previously helmed hit TV series Moone Boy, Raised By Wolves and People of Earth. Kevin Barry, who has recently been long-listed for the Booker Prize, penned the script.
"I’m delighted Break Out Pictures is releasing our film," Fitzgibbon remarked in a statement about the upcoming release. "It feels like the perfect home for Dark Lies The Island. Written by one of our top writers and with a cast of great actors like Tommy Tiernan, Pat Short and Charlie Murphy. I hope the audience will find something refreshing and exciting in our film."
Produced by Michael Garland (The Legend of Longwood, Death of a Superhero), Dark Lies The Island is out on October 18.
