WATCH: Dublin alt-rockers JamLive drop heart-breaking video for 'Listen'
The clip brings to life the poignant track 'Listen' from JamLive's latest album Flower.
Dublin based alt-rock band JamLive have released a brand new music video for their emotional track 'Listen'.
The duo - made up by lead singer J and drummer Jacob - released their debut album Flower earlier this year. Their eighth track, 'Listen', stands out with its emotional intensity. The newly released music video maintains the same rawness.
Reviewing Flower, Hot Press' Ciaran Brennan wrote: "J is at his most vulnerable on 'Listen,' with striking lyrics like: Happy, just be happy, as my mother cries tonight and in her tears you sell lies. The poignant power of his voice can be heard through the recording. Flower features cinematic orchestral arrangements over mellow rock songs, with lead singer J’s delicate and simple melodies. The music and film duo hark back to 90s and early 2000s rock."
The five-minute clip tells a candid story of addiction and how it ravages everything around it. Following the tale of a family dealing with an alcoholic father, the video is charged with a raw emotionality that hits hard.
The video was directed by the group's lead singer, J. It stars actors David Duffy and Tatiana Oulinakina - who is J's real-life mother. It is not the first time the actors have worked together. The pair previously acted alongside one another on Irish daytime soap Fair City.
Drawing influence from the likes of Radiohead, U2, and Deftones; JamLive are searching to craft an authentic style that carries with it a powerful message.
