Tom Waits to star in new Jim Jarmusch film Father Mother Sister Brother
The star studded cast of the Dublin-shot film also includes Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver, Charlotte Rampling and more
Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, Charlotte Rampling, Luka Sabbat, Indya Moore and Mayim Bialik will star in Jim Jarmusch’s new film Father Mother Sister Brother, Variety reports.
The film recently wrapped production in Paris after shoots in Dublin and the North-East of the US, and is expected to be finished later this year.
According to its official description, Father Mother Sister Brother is a “comedy interwoven with threads of melancholy” told in three sections and revolving around the relationships between adult children, their parents and each other. Jarmusch said that the film would also have a musical component.
Said to be one of Jarmusch’s most personal films, Father Mother Sister Brother is the follow up to 2019 The Dead Don’t Die, which saw the director’s reunion with Waits after their longtime partnership began with Down by Law.
Driver, who also starred in The Dead Don’t Die, will be reunited with Jarmusch in this new film. The actor is currently attending the Cannes Film Festival in support of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
