The Bear to end with season 5
The show was renewed for Season 5 in July and is scheduled to premiere later this year.
The acclaimed comedy-drama The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White, is reportedly concluding with its fifth season, a source told Deadline.
The news was inadvertently broken by Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Donna Berzatto, when she posted a photo with Abby Elliott (Natalie ‘Sugar’ Berzatto) on Instagram.
“FINISHED STRONG,” reads the caption. “Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with. Got to finish it out with my baby Berzatto bear,” signaling the end of production and the series.

This comes after White had previously mentioned that creator Chris Storer's initial concept was to end the show after Season 4.
The Bear has garnered significant critical success, including the 2023 Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, along with acting wins for White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, and Storer. Its winning streak continued into 2024, with Liza Colón-Zayas winning Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and Curtis securing the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award for her role as Donna since Season 2.
