Take a first look at Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan on A Complete Unknown set
The first images from Chamalet’s latest project have been released as filming for the Bob Dylan biopic begins in New York.
Production for the highly anticipated Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown is now officially underway in New York. Newly released set photos from the upcoming feature show 28-year-old Timothée Chalamet as he embodies a young Bob Dylan.
Our first glance at Chalamet’s portrayal of the American icon shows him wrapped up for the cold in an old cap and scarf, backpack over one shoulder and guitar in hand as he navigates the busy New York streets.

Outlining Dylan’s emergence on the New York folk scene and his subsequent ascent to fame throughout the 1960s, the film will trace the folk star’s journey from Minnesota to the 1965 Newport Folk Festival stage.
Directed by James Mangold, A Complete Unknown is set to feature Chalamet alongside Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Nick Offerman as Alan Lomax and Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash. After a number of setbacks in production caused previously slated Benedict Cumberbatch to drop out of filming, American actor Edward Norton has been announced as his replacement for the role of Pete Seeger.
