Stranger Things Season Five share behind the scenes video as filming continues
Following the heart-stopping finale last season, the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are gearing up for one final battle to end all battles. And, honestly folks, it looks like it’s gonna be a doozy!
‘Sup, nerds? Netflix and The Duffer Brothers have shared a new sneak peek behind the scenes of the fifth and final season of the widely-lauded series Stranger Things. The video comes as the cast and crew hit the halfway mark of filming and welcome newcomers Nell Fisher, Jake Murphy Connelly and Alex Breaux to the cast.
Featured in the teaser are all of the series mainstays, including our recent cover star Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder and all your favourites from Hawkins, Indiana.
It’s been a long two years since Stranger Things two-part fourth season reached it’s hair-raising finale, bringing our ragtag band of heroes back to Hawkins for the battle of all battles that lies ahead. Now, seven months after ST Season 5 went into production [and a West End theatrical launch], fans can peep the latest goings on about the beloved series as they close their final chapter.
“This is the season fans have been waiting for.” No kidding! Despite the shroud of secrecy veiling the final jaunt to the Upside Down, there’s no shortage of excitement in this season teaser. Firstly, we know there will be a focus on the series’ central [now grown-up] cast - Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schanpp in particular - getting to share scenes once again after spending large swathes of the last couple seasons apart on their own personal journeys. Then, there’s a bunch of morsels to take in: Linda Hamilton on set! Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont behind the camera! Dustin (Matarazzo) seemingly heading to Eddie Munson’s grave! - that really hammer home the size and scale of the climax ahead.
Amidst all the hype, emotional music and slow-motion shots of fan favourites walking the show’s Atlanta soundstages, the new behind the scenes look reveals more additions to the cast in the shape of young stars Nell Fisher, Alex Breaux and Jake Connelly. Just like the plot of the final season, their roles remain very much under wraps at the moment. But for alla we don’t yet know about Hawkins’ last stand against the monstrous villains of The Upside Down, we do know a couple things: it’s going to be epic and tissues will be required.
