RTÉ selects Mari Hurley as Chief Financial Officer
Mari Hurley appointed as new RTÉ Chief Executive Officer on Friday
RTÉ has announced the selection of Mari Hurley as the new Chief Financial Officer. Mari has had CFO roles in the past, including AA Ireland, and Premier Lotteries Ireland.
Hurley will be filling in Richard Collins' role, who resigned in October. She will replace him in late summer, and join commercial director Gavin Deans and director of legal Daniel Coady as part of director-general Kevin Bakhurst's leadership team.
Mari was also the Chief Executive Officer of Hostelworld when it was listed on the Irish and UK stock exchanges in 2015. Since graduating from University College Cork, Ms. Hurley briefly attended Harvard Business School for a program in Advanced Management.
Mari also has experience in two of Ireland's major semi-state entities on the non-executive board. At present, she is a Non-Executive Director of the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) and was also a non-executive director at Ervia until August 2021.
Mari served both as Chair of the Credit and Remuneration Committees and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Ms. Hurley said: “I’m delighted to be joining RTÉ and its Leadership Team at this critical time for the organization and for the future of public service media in Ireland. I look forward to working with the Director-General, the RTÉ Board, its Audit & Risk Committee, and the Finance team to develop RTÉ’s financial strategy and to bring my experience of successfully leading and implementing change and transformation programs to RTÉ, in line with the unique values and obligations of public service."
