RTÉ announces the third and final season of The Dry for 2026
Fans can stream the first two seasons of The Dry on RTÉ Player.
RTÉ has announced a third and final season of their comedy-drama The Dry, set to arrive on RTÉ Player in 2026.
Written by Nancy Harris and produced by Paddy Breathnach, the series garnered over 1.2 million streams since its release. The show follows Shiv Sheridan, played by actress Róisín Gallagher, as she navigates an unstable family, chaotic boyfriend and on-going alcohol problem.
“The first two seasons of The Dry were hugely popular with our audiences,” said Dermot Horan, Director of Acquisitions & Co-Productions for RTÉ. “Nancy Harris has created in the Sheridan’s that most recognisable and dysfunctional of Irish families, to which we can all relate through their ups and downs.”
Season three will reveal to audiences a long-held family secret, changing the dynamics significantly.
"It's going to be a wild ride and we can’t wait to share it with our audience,” said Harris.
Gallagher - who plays a former London-based party girl returning to Dublin - earned plaudits for her wild personality and crude language in prior seasons.
“There are probably a few aunts I’d try and dissuade from watching!” Gallagher added.
With the full cast returning, fans can expect a "shocking revelation" as they await the final 2026 season.
