New Netflix Western The Harder They Fall starring Idris Elba to open London Film Festival
Idris Elba's Western vehicle, produced by Jay-Z, is on the way to our screens soon.
Netflix's new Western film The Harder They Fall is set to open the British Film Institute's London Film Festival.
Starring Idris Elba, the news sees streaming services continue to take on dual roles as production companies, with the premiere at the film festival and subsequent theatrical release taking place just before the film's online release on November 3.
Jonathan Majors, Zazie Beetz, Delroy Lindo, and LaKeith Stanfield join Elba in the star-studded cast, directed by Londoner Jeymes Samuel in his feature debut.
Produced by Jay-Z, the film is a Western about outlaw Nat Love (Majors), who finds out that his enemy Rufus Buck (Elba) has been released from prison.
It's the second collaboration between Samuel and Jay-Z, as he previously directed Legacy, a short film promoting the rapper's last album, 4:44.
The full cast for the picture also includes Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, R.J. Cyler, Damon Wayans Jr., Deon Cole and Regina King.
Idris Elba also recently starred in The Suicide Squad, the sequel to the commercially successful, critically panned 2016 film.
Hot Press recently published our five takeaways from the DC Comics adaption, including praise for the former star of The Wire's "uniquely excellent, charismatic" talent.
