Lily Collins cast as Audrey Hepburn in film about the making of Breakfast at Tiffany's
The upcoming film will delve into the pre-production of Breakfast at Tiffany's, the romantic comedy adapted from Truman Capote's novella of the same name.
Lily Collins is set to portray Audrey Hepburn in a upcoming film about the creation of the 1961 classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Collins is known is best known for playing the lead role in Netflix’s television series Emily in Paris, which was recently renewed for Season 6. Emily in Paris has often referenced Audrey Hepburn in costume design as well as narrative.
“It’s with almost 10 years of development and a lifetime of admiration and adoration for Audrey that I’m finally able share this,” Collins wrote on Instagram.
Collins will not only star but also act as a producer on the project. The screenplay, being written by Alena Smith, creator of the Apple TV series Dickinson, is adapted from Sam Wasson’s book, Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman. A director has yet to be named for the film.
The upcoming film will delve into the pre-production of Breakfast at Tiffany's, the romantic comedy adapted from Truman Capote's novella. The movie will feature characters based on key figures, including Capote himself, who famously opposed Paramount's casting of Audrey Hepburn for Holly Golightly, as he had envisioned Marilyn Monroe in the role. Director Blake Edwards and costume designer Edith Head will also be characters, though casting details remain unannounced.
